If you are going to be the one maintaining the page, go ahead. If not, the person who will be managing the page will need to use their Google Plus account to create the page. Multiple admins will be available, just not yet.
You could use the Hangouts feature to have open dialogue with customers, you can add brands to your Circles and you will be able to see brand pages appearing in natural Google search results.
Most branded accounts have been closed down by Google Plus with the promise that a business version of Google Plus would be coming later in the year.
