As promised a few weeks ago, Google Plus has rolled out business pages, but in true Google style they are not available for everyone. Announcing the launch of the new brand pages yesterday, Vic Gundotra shared the link needed to create pages, but most people clicking on it saw a message saying they can’t create a page yet.
Reportedly, though, Google will open up the functionality to everyone in a day or two, so here’s the link for you.
In his blog post, Gundotra talked about the exciting possibilities brand pages will offer. For example, you could use the Hangouts feature to have open dialogue with customers, you can add brands to your Circles and you will be able to see brand pages appearing in natural Google search results.
Gundotra also explained a new feature called Direct Connect. If you know the name of a page you are trying to connect with, you can type “+” into the Google search bar followed by he name of the page and you will be taken straight to that page.
Here are some examples of live Google Plus brand pages you can look at right now.
- All American Rejects
- Anderson Cooper 360
